    History The Schoenfeld-Ens book says he was born in Neuenhuben, Danziger Werder. Unruh (p. 302) says that he was married on 8 Aug. He moved to Ladekoperfeld in 1775, and to Russia in 1796. He settled first in Neuenburg, Chortitza, but moved to Neuendorf 1 Dec 1810, where he was a school teacher. He moved to Neu Osterwick on 4 Oct 1814. In the 1801 Chortitza Colony Census he is listed at Neuenburg #19 and in the 1802 Census at Neuenburg #20. In the 1814 Census he is listed in Neu Osterwick among the landless (B.H. Unruh, p. 284). Sheryl Doerksen gives marriage date of 14 July 1762. One record says he was born 20 Oct 1743.
