    History This one is very confusing. Plett says her birth date was 1778 and refers to a census in which Peter Brandt was 28 and she was 20. Perhaps Peter's birth date is wrong, because Elisabeth's parents weren't married until 1787. In keeping with the dates of her brothers and sisters, I think she was born in 1788. CF 3-95
