    Gender Male
History In the 1795 Chortitza Colony Census he is listed as a recent Flemish Mennonite immigrant residing on a temporary basis in Schoenwiese (B.H. Unruh, p. 244). In the 1801 Chortitza Colony Census he is listed at Schoenhorst #7. Salomon may have been the son or the grandson of Salomon Neufeld (b.c. 1702). Salomon Neufeld (b. 1747) lived in Ellerwald 3 in 1776, according to the Konsignation list, with his wife, 1 son and 1 daughter. In the 1789 land census he is living in Ellerwald 3. Trift (listed as Siem. Niefeldt) and owns 20 Morgen (ca. 11 hectares = ca. 27 acres) of land. Salomon's relationship to Johann Salomon Neufeld and Judith Neufeld (Mrs. Isaac Doerksen) is based on conjecture. Salomon is living in Ellerwald in the West Prussian Land Register 1772/73. The Rosenort Gemeinde baptism list states that Salomon lived in Zeiersche Kamp. He and his family were among a group of Flemish Mennonites who immigrated to Chortitza Colony in 1794. They were settled temporarily in Schoenwiese before permanently settling in Schoenhorst.
