    History Her age is given as 28 on the ship passenger list in 1876, which is incorrect.
    Obituary - Abrahams. — Den 18. April in der Hoffnungsau Gemeinde, Kans., die Gattin des Jakob Abrahams, geb. Flaming, eingewandert aus Südrußland aus dem Dorfe Schardau, an Lungenentzündung, im 49. Lebensjahre. Sie wurde den 20. April unter zahlreicher Teilnahme zur Ruhe gebettet, allwo sie ruhen wird bis zur Stunde der Posaune des Erzengels und der Stimme Gottes. Leichenreden wurden gehalten von Pred. Peter Goertz über Ebr. 4, 1 und von Pred. Pankratz aus der Brüdergemeinde über Hiob 19, 25.
    Die liebe Dahingeschiedene schien fast unentbehrlich zu sein, sowohl für die Umgebung als auch besonders für die Familie. Da sie als Geburt-Helferin fungierte, so ist sie in vielen Fällen und bei manchen Vorkommnissen den Frauen und auch Familien zum großen Segen gewesen, sowohl leiblich als geistlich, ja wir müssen sagen: eine wahre Tabea, voll guter Werke, die ihr nachfolgen werden bis vor den Thron Jesu. Sie hinterläßt eine tiefbetrübten Gatten mit elf Kinder, die ihren nur zu frühen Tod beweinen.

    Built by Palmers Shipbuilding & Iron Co, Jarrow-on-Tyne. She was a 2,748 gross ton ship, length 320.5ft x beam 38.5ft, one funnel, three masts, iron construction, single screw and a speed of 13 knots. Launched on 21st Aug.1872 for the Red Star Line of Antwerp, she sailed from Antwerp on her maiden voyage to Falmouth, Halifax and Philadelphia on 20th Jan.1873. On 25th Mar.1873 she started her first Antwerp - Philadelphia direct sailing and on 29th Nov.1876 commenced her first Antwerp - New York voyage. Between 1877-87 she sailed between Antwerp and New York or Philadelphia, starting her last New York voyage on 26th Oct.1887, subsequently sailing to Philadelphia until in March 1889 she was sold to French owners and renamed GEOGRAPHIQUE. She was sunk in collision in Oct.1889.
