History In the Oct 1816 Census he is listed at Insel Chortitza #3 where his census data as of 1814 is given. Peter Isaak states that all Mennonite Heppners descend from this couple, but he is ignoring all the Bergthal (Chortitzer, Bergthaler and Sommerfelder) descendants of Jacob Anton Hoeppner (b 3 Mar 1792). All his children except Peter and Anton emigrated to Canada. He was buried with his father. Schapansky states that he died 19 Sep 1883 (MFH, Oct., 2000, p. 181), as does the Edwin Hoeppner submission.
