History The Bergthal Gemeinde Buch, p. A19 states he was born 25 Mar 1813 while p. B33 states he was born 25 May 1818. B.H. Unruh, p. 335 gives his birth date in Tiege, Molotschna Colony as 24 Mar 1813. It seems probable that 25 Mar 1813 was correct. One record incorrectly says he was born 8 Dec 1811.
