    History "Burnett Unruh”. Meno 1 p. 107: baptized by Tobias Unruh. His obituary spells his given name Bernard.

    Bernard Unruh Dies
    Bernard P. Unruh was born in Russia, June 10, 1838, and died at his home north of Meno, February 11, 1926, at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 1 day. He was married to Miss Susie Koehn who only lived about six months after their marriage. In 1874 he came to the United States, making his home in Pennsylvania for about a year. Coming to Moundridge, Kansas in 1875, he and Miss Susie Thomas were married in 1876. To this union fifteen children were born, four sons and three daughters died while they were little babes and one daughter, Mrs. Tobias Unruh, died a number of years ago. Moving to this community, from Kansas, the family has since resided on their farm here.
    He leaves his wife; three sons, Cornelius, John and Tobias Unruh; five daughters, Mrs. Ben Buller, Mrs. William Johnson, Mrs. Herman H. Koehn, Mrs. Fred Penner and Mrs. Herman Unruh; one brother, Ben Unruh, Moundridge, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Koehn, Moundridge, Kansas, and Miss Katie Unruh, Los Angeles, California; forty-two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many friends.
    Funeral services were held at the Meno Mennonite church Saturday at 2 p.m. followed by burial in the cemetery beside the church.
