    History He was living in Neuteicherwald, Prussia at the time of his baptism in 1783. He migrated from Schoenhorst, Prussia to the Molotschna Colony, South Russia in 1803 (B.H. Unruh, p. 305; P. Rempel, p. 57). In the 1806 amd 1808 Molotschna Colony Censuses he is listed at Halbstadt #9 and is said to have been a weaver. His first name is incorrectly given as Gerhard in the 1806 Census. The 1808 Census says that he came from Schoenhorst, Prussia (B.H. Unruh, p. 305). The 1835 Census entry for Halbstadt #29 says he came to Russia in 1803 and died in 1827.
