    Notes
    • This young man was also known as Moses. He took himself off to China to fight in the army when he was around 20. For the life of me, I don't know what war we ever fought in China, so you see I don't know my history either. After several years, he came back and walked into the house one night eating a banana. Well - all bedlam broke loose. We youngsters had never had a banana or any fruit - it was unaffordable. So Moses unstrapped a bag and took out a bunch of bananas, We each got one. The boys gobbled theirs down while we girls took just little bites! The boys watched us until the last bite hoping we would give them just one teensy, weensy bite. No soap! Leonard married Rose Warriner and together they moved to Yakima, Yakima, Washington, or as we called it, "east of the mountains." He went to work for Mobil Oil and eventually became the Distributor for a huge area east of the Cascade Mountains.
He and Rose moved into a gorgeous home. Cy and I never failed to stop and see her when we came that way. Leonard died 25 Apr 1968, when he was 63 years old. They have two lovely daughters, Laura and Dorothy. Rose died a few years back and the girls inherited quite a lot of money plus the house after her death. [7]

Since the Bellingham Herald a few weeks ago made a survey of Bellingham’s “big families”, showing that Charles Cox, popular driver at the Hotel Leopold, is the father of the largest Bellingham family, the suggestion has been made that Mr. Cox and his family be presented to the readers of The Herald. It is with considerable satisfaction that The Herald is able to comply with the implied request, and herewith presents Mr. and Mrs. Cox and their eleven children, all of whom were born in Bellingham. It also offers the suggestion that they deserve to be crowned as the champion family of Tulip Town.
