    Notes
    • Lee would have been 86 this July, but he became lost to us. Letty and Rhoda called to me frantically down here wanting to know if I would help them find him. On 12 June 1991, he was admitted to Queen of Angels Hospital and later to the Virgil Convalescent Home. He died 15 Dec 1991. All I can get out of these Mexican and Filipino people at this Home is that he had too many complications - a gastrointestinal disorder, liver problem, heart problem, etc. His wife or friend, Virginia, is in the same hospital in the mental section. They cut off his telephone in September. I am still trying to get more from them.
Lee also became a linotypist and helped Dick at his place of business. They adopted two children. Dennis died of a heart attack in his 20's. Patricia lives in the east somewhere. His first wife, Evelyn, still lives in Bellingham. We had three social meetings with Lee and Vi. They managed apartments and generally kept busy. They did all their traveling by Greyhound and took many trips. [6]

Since the Bellingham Herald a few weeks ago made a survey of Bellingham’s “big families”, showing that Charles Cox, popular driver at the Hotel Leopold, is the father of the largest Bellingham family, the suggestion has been made that Mr. Cox and his family be presented to the readers of The Herald. It is with considerable satisfaction that The Herald is able to comply with the implied request, and herewith presents Mr. and Mrs. Cox and their eleven children, all of whom were born in Bellingham. It also offers the suggestion that they deserve to be crowned as the champion family of Tulip Town.
