    Notes
    • This sweetheart of the family will be 82 this year, but you'd never know it. She's always so kind, considerate, helpful and liked by all. She married Clarence Wood in 1929 and had two "angels", Betty and Warren. Both are married and are grandparents themselves, now. Letty and Clarence lived in Oroville, Washington for 20 years. They were the proprietors of the Oroville Shoe and Saddle Shop. I guess they could make just about anything in the way of leather. They sold out when Clarence became ill. He died in 1986.
Letty lived in Oroville for awhile to take care of everything and then moved to Bellingham. She lives in a mobile home. She and sister Rhoda keep the telephone wires humming with all their chatter. She walks one half to several miles a day with her neighbor. The rest of the time, she sits in front of the window and watches the rain come down - which is a great deal of the time. [3]

Since the Bellingham Herald a few weeks ago made a survey of Bellingham’s “big families”, showing that Charles Cox, popular driver at the Hotel Leopold, is the father of the largest Bellingham family, the suggestion has been made that Mr. Cox and his family be presented to the readers of The Herald. It is with considerable satisfaction that The Herald is able to comply with the implied request, and herewith presents Mr. and Mrs. Cox and their eleven children, all of whom were born in Bellingham. It also offers the suggestion that they deserve to be crowned as the champion family of Tulip Town.
