    Obituary - Catherine Janzen Classen was born in South Russia on Feb. 28, 1860 daughter of Jacob and Katharina Janzen Classen. At the age of 14 she immigrated to America with her parents and several siblings on Aug 27th, 1874 aboard the S.S. Cimbria arriving at New York, New York, then settling northeast of Fairbury, Nebraska.
    She was united in marriage to Isaac B. Friesen on Dec 26th 1879. They were accepted into the Reformed Mennonite Church in 1887, and were baptized. She remained a faithful member the rest of her life. To this union 10 children were born. After her husbands death she made her home with her son George in Sterling, Illinois. She passed away suddenly Friday, Aug 13th, 1937 at the home of her son Abe.
    Catherine had 2 services. One at the Reformed Mennonite Church in Sterling, then the body was shipped to Ebenezer Church in Jansen, Nebraska were a 2nd service was held. She is survived by her 10 children.
