    Notes
    • Glen had a normal childhood and grew up like the rest of us did, full of good food, fun with all the neighbor kids, and a sometime player of the trombone. He and I went to Wheaton College, Illinois, and there he found a sweetie of a girl working in the Dining Hall Offices. Her name was Libby Tyson Bennett, which he soon changed to Cox. Libby didn't live as long as we would have liked, but in due time Glen remarried Ann Tyson, (no relation to the first wife). He or they have not had any children. Glen has been doing real estate appraisals forever, it seems, but at age 79, he is still going strong. He hasn't avoided the operation bit either. He is just nicely recovering from a hip operation. Ann does all his typing for him. Aside from real estate, he has a very interesting hobby - Eggery! He carefully cuts the big eggshells to make an opening, then decorates them with miniature things and pretties, and then sells them. In September, he and Ann went to a two-day Egg Show in Allentown, Pa., and pronounced it not only interesting but very beautiful. For Christmas, his home is decorated from floor to ceiling, and he cooks and cooks - like fourteen different kinds of cookies. He is still full of the Old Nick and fun to talk to. He has made a habit of calling his three sisters on their birthdays - something we look forward to. What a guy! [4]

Since the Bellingham Herald a few weeks ago made a survey of Bellingham’s “big families”, showing that Charles Cox, popular driver at the Hotel Leopold, is the father of the largest Bellingham family, the suggestion has been made that Mr. Cox and his family be presented to the readers of The Herald. It is with considerable satisfaction that The Herald is able to comply with the implied request, and herewith presents Mr. and Mrs. Cox and their eleven children, all of whom were born in Bellingham. It also offers the suggestion that they deserve to be crowned as the champion family of Tulip Town.
