    His age is given as 35 on the ship passenger list in 1875, which is incorrect. He immigrated from Karolswalde per the Hamburg departure lists.

    “The Prussian-Polish Mennonites settling in South Dakota 1874 and soon after”, by J.A. Boese, Page 26, Paragraph 2 references Ludke in the "last" Heinrichsdorf church record. Page 26 Paragraph 4 references the "first" church record (In Avon, South Dakota?) and lists Lutke. Page 120 states "The steamer COLUMBIA, a freighter, arriving in New York, November 22, 1875, is reported to have brought David Ludke...." Membership list copied from the first church record that was started by the Prussian-Polish Mennonites in South Dakota. The record was started in 1876 by Elder Peter P. Becker. Page 124 David H.
