    Obituary - Schmidt. — Am 25. Juni in der Neu-Alexanderwohl Gemeinde in Marion Co., Kans., Elisabeth Schmidt geb. Schmidt und Gattin des Jakob Schmidt, im Alter von 60 Jahren, 6 Monaten und 23 Tagen. Die Verstorbene war in Alexanderwohl, Süd-Rußland geboren, wurden den 20. Juni 1853 getauft und am 2. Oktober 1855 trat sie in den Ehestand. Diese Ehe war mit 9 Kindern (4 Söhnen und 5 Töchtern) gesegnet, von welchen ihr schon 1 Sohn und 1 Tochter in die Ewigkeit vorangegangen sind. Die Zahl ihrer Großkinder beträgt 30. Sie hatte sich seit 38 Jahren (Joh. 5, 5.) ein besonderes leibliches Leiden gehabt, welches zuletzt ihren Tod verursachte und welches für sie eine Leidensschule war, in welcher sie gelernt hat ihrem Heilande das Kreuz nachzutragen. Als eine Jüngerin Jesu hat sie sich in ihrem Leben mehr um Andere als um sich selbst bemüht. Die Beerdigung fand den 27. von der Neu-Alexanderwohler Kirche aus statt.
