History He migrated from Lithuania to Kronsweide, Chortitza, South Russia in 1789 (P. Rempel, p. 23; B.H. Unruh, p. 211). In the 1795 Chortitza Colony Census he is listed at Kronsweide #17 (B.H. Unruh, p. 243). In the 1801 Census he is listed at Kronsweide #16. In the 1803 Chortitiza Colony Heads of Households List he is listed in Kronsweide (B.H. Unruh, p. 214). He appears to have died between 1803 and 1806 since his widow is listed in Kronsweide in the 1806 Census (P. Rempel, p. 23). Agnes Ketler incorrectly states that he died on the trek to Russia (1995).
