Obituary - BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wisconsin - Wallace R. "Wally" Allen, 68, of Black River Falls, died Thursday, April 15, 2004, in his home. Wally was born on March 19, 1936, in Black River Falls, to Raymond and Beatrice (Heath) Allen. At the age of 6, he moved to South Beloit, Illinois, with his family. Wally was employed as an iron worker/welder in the Beloit area. He married the former Joann Beaman and they were later divorced. On Nov. 21, 1962, he married the former Helen Mickelson. Wally and Helen, and their family, lived in South Beloit until moving to Black River Falls in 1972. Wally was fond of music and loved to sing and play the guitar and played in a band with a group of friends. He played the guitar until he became physically handicapped.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; two daughters, Julie (Randy Skilling) Nordahl of Black River Falls, and Kristy (Randy) Matalas of Merrillan; four sons, Wally and Ray (Bonnie) Allen, both of Black River Falls, Michael (Helga) Allen of Milwaukee, and Brian (Amy Ring) Allen of La Crosse; grandchildren, Jennifer (Cory Gust), Dustin, and Trevor Taylor, Courtney and Corey Allen, and Amber (Carlos Cornejo), Jamie and Michael, and Barbara and Steven Allen; two great-grandchildren, Kianna Cornejo and Cameron Gust; two sisters, Maxine (Larry) McQuad of South Beloit, Illinois, and Virginia Sher of Roscoe, Illinois; and two brothers, Clyde (Carol) Windsor of Bunnell, Florida, and Dick (Velma) Windsor of South Beloit, Illinois. Wally was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Aaron Windsor, Wayne Windsor, Gerald Windsor, and Gary Allen; and a sister, Dolly Carter.?Funeral services were Monday, April 19, 2004, at 1 p.m. from the Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls, and burial was in the Sullivan Cemetery, rural Black River Falls. Donald Heath officiated. Honorary casket bearers were Corey Allen and Michael Skilling. Casket bearers were Raymond Allen, Brian Allen, Michael Allen, John Reidy, Dustin Taylor, and Trevor Taylor. Family and friends called at the Buswell Funeral Home on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from noon until services. |
